According to ‘Sky Sports’, Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich striker, wants to renew his contract as soon as possible. The Pole will leave the club this summer should Bayern not start converstions with him.

Lewandowski’s quality and ability is undeniable. The Bayern Munich player is one of the most feared goalscorers on the European continent. At 33 years old, he continues to demonstrate his capability to compete for every record possible.

However, the Bavarian giants are being troubled this season concerning their stance on contract renewals. A turbulent atmosphere surrounds the club at the moment. Lewandowski has been at the club for 8 years and his current contract is due to expire in June 2023. The club’s sporting director, Salihamidezic, no doubt wants to ensure that the striker continues playing in the team for a few more seasons, but the Pole himself is not so sure.

As ‘Sky Sports’ reports, Lewandowski is not happy with the way in which the negotiations about his renewal are being handled. His desire to remain at the club is clear, but according to the cited source, the Pole has issued an ultimatum.

This reads as: if the striker is not able to renew his contract this year, he may make the decision to leave Bayern this summer. An absolute bombshell of a statement for the Bavarian club to hear.

If he were to leave the club, many clubs would be interested in him. The Polish international could be starting a new footballing adventure. Only a little more than four months remain until to the summer transfer window and time is running out for Bayern.
