Bayern Munich had won 11 straight Bundesliga titles. They’ve also won the Champions League twice in that period. They broke their transfer record by signing Harry Kane in the summer.

But not only may they not win a single trophy this season, they are a club in crisis.

Seb Stafford-Bloor outlines what’s actually happening at Bayern Munich. Illustrated by Philippe Fenner.

not rly that much. leverkusen is like 12 points abvoe xPoints and bayern is slightly underperforming. it's a freak season. almost to the degree of union berlin getting that far up last season.

Firing Nagelsmann was the stupidest decision EVER. In my opinion, that decision is the biggest reason for Bayern's decline, whoever made that call should be sacked. If it was a consensus, all of them should be let go. And Bayern only won the title last year because Dortmund choked in their last game, they only needed a draw to win the title.

Bayern Munich not winning the title is actually good thing for Bundesliga, I actually start paying attention to the league and got hyped with Leverkusen vs Munich matches for the first time outside EPL. The situation in Bundesliga and League 1 (seems like Seria A is having the same issue with wide gap between Inter and runner-up) makes the whole league having the Russia like vibe, "oh its Putin again, who else?"

They dont have patience. Just like chelsea. Roberto di mateo won them CL in 2012 but was sacked next year for a draw againt juve in CL. Sacking managers like Nagelsmann and Ancelotti speaks volumes of how thr club functions.

Lack of competition leads to complacency and arrogance. Bayern used to be one of the most formidable sporting organisations in world football. This Leverkusen resurgence will propel Bayern to a new level, they may even take Xabi Alonso.

Arsenal's strong all over the park because Arteta has built a well-drilled team that works for each other and fights for one another. We are solid both ends of the pitch and we're deadly from corners and set pieces. If Bayern are arguing among themselves and players doubting/fighting with the manager, this doesn't bode well for Bayern leading into the game at the Emirates. Bayern will be shocked with how fast and intense Arsenal play within the first 30mins. Arsenal are one of the best teams in Europe when it comes to high pressing, work off the ball, interceptions and player touches within the box. We'll load the Bayern box with 5-6 attacking players and relentlessly mount pressure on the defenders and keeper. Bayern will concede a lot of corners, which favours Arsenal's well-trained set-pieces. If we lose possession the team quickly resets it's press and forces passing errors to regain possession. Then it's repeated wave after wave of attacks. Do not be surprised if Arsenal score at least 2 goals in the first 30 mins. Arteta is a very ruthless coach that loves to control and dominate the game. He usually aims straight for the jugular to crush teams early. We know Bayern want to play football unlike Porto, so this only works in our favour. Be warned Bayern, get ready for fireworks!

The biggest problem is, that the bosses have no patience at all. A new manager comes in and he instantly has to be perfect. No time for development like they did it with Klopp in Liverpool.
He loses two games in a row, and he’s out. That‘s such a rotten system that in the future will scare top managers and top players away, i‘m afraid

FFS! 12 years of winning the league. It had to come to an end at some point. You can still have the most money and the best players in the league but eventually a mixture of complacey, fatigue and that your rivals are pushing for every advantage, that the competition is close, means you can't win indefinitely and thank god for that. It is healthier when other clubs win once in a while.

The most important line in the video: "A downturn in relative terms." They cant win every year, 12 yr in a row is legendary. Plus theyre still alive in the CL regardless of how theyve played up to the quarters.
