Karl und Kusi-Asare rock the final test match! | GC Zurich vs. FC Bayern 1-2 | Highlights



FC Bayern secured their third win in their final friendly match of this year’s summer preparations. In their dress rehearsal ahead of Saturday’s Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against VfB Stuttgart in Stuttgart, the German record champions defeated Grasshopper Club Zurich 2-1. Youngsters Lennart Karl and Jonah Kusi-Asare scored impressive goals against the Swiss side in the first half. For coach Vincent Kompany, it was another good opportunity to gain impressions ahead of the upcoming competitive matches against Stuttgart and, six days later, RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, following victories against Lyon (2-1) and Tottenham (4-0).

Bayern Munich vs Manchester United 2023 UCL: A Thrilling Champions League Encounter

Alphonso Davies has signed a contract extension with FC Bayern to 30 June 2030.

Davies arrived in Munich as a teenager and has been with Bayern since the age of 18. He’s since made 220 competitive appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and providing 34 assists. He has won the Bundesliga five times, the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, two DFB Cups and three German Supercups. The left-footer was also part of the Bayern reserves team that won the 3. Liga title. Davies has so far won 56 caps for Canada (15 goals), featuring at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, two CONCACAF Gold Cups and at the CONMEBOL Copa America. He made his senior debut at the age of 16 and is now captain of his country.

In the Bundesliga season of 2018/19 Bayern Munich beat rivals Borussia Dortmund and finished first. For the most part of the season Dortmund were leading, but in the end Bayern were able to close the gap and take the lead from Dortmund. With players like Robben, Ribery and Lewandowski Bayern Munich were unstoppable.
