Roberto De Zerbi has cast doubt over his Brighton future by refusing to commit to the Seagulls for next season – and revealing he wants to have talks with club owner Tony Bloom about his next steps.

The Italian manager, who took Brighton to European football for the first time this season, has been strongly linked to the soon-to-be-vacant positions at Liverpool and Bayern Munich, after Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso committed to the Bundesliga leaders on Friday.

De Zerbi will take his Brighton side to Liverpool on Super Sunday in a match billed as a potential audition for the 44-year-old to become Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

As a Liverpool fan, not interested. He can stay in Brighton. For me last year's success was from the strong foundations created by Potter, not so much De Zerbi, Brighton this year have been average, big defensive Issues at times.

Turns out Simon Jordan was right when Brighton signed him he said that he thought that the first smell of any move to something he believes to be more elite he will forget loyalty and sod off, looks to me like that’s his plan. What a shame Brighton are great club and as a Forest fan I’d love to see my club be more like Brighton, in my opinion there a proper club.

The fact he is talking like this means that LFC will not go anywhere near him. This is so far from the LFC way. Dirty laundry being aired in the street is not good. Bayern maybe wont mind.

I take De Zerbi to Liverpool anytime any day. I guess the media don't want him in the Premier League because of his bold nature when he talks. They want humble and kind Amorim.

He’s absolutely right, if the club doesn’t have plans why should he stay ? He’s very talented coach and look at Brighton how improved under him. Lots of big job available for him.

This is pretty disrespectful towards a club that gave him a chance to showcase what he could do. He could easily just say he's focused on the season, none of those clubs are making any hires until the end of the season.

This is poor from De Zerbi. He has had a fantastic platform at Brighton and inherited a lot of good work from past managers. If I was him, I’d be thankful that I already work at such a good club. If I was a potential employer, this open indulgence of mid-season speculation about his future would put me off.

He said at the beginning he would do what’s best for himself.
Brighton is more than just one man.
The club is set up well.
We have a business model that includes a fantastic academy.
We’ve taken knocks and moved forward.
If De Zerbi wants to move on, then move on!
But do your job until that time comes, and don’t assume that bigger is better.
Brighton fans know where we’ve come from, and are grateful to fly as high as we are.
There’s a lot of entitled fan bases in this league, and if you don’t hit the ground running, you can end up going from pillar to post trying to find a fit.
TBH, unless the FA sort out VAR and unless they maintain some kind of FFP, the Premier League’s had it, as a competition.
    Until then UTA💪🏻🔵⚪️🔵⚪️
