The English press can't understand why he would go to Bayern 😂.
Say he goes for 4 years – 3-4 bundesliga medals, a few domestic cup medals, UCL every year without fail and Bayern are probably in the top 5 or 6 prospects to win there.
No team in England except Man City can offer that chance.
Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal have all missed out on CL in the past 3 years alone.
He would enhance his reputation as a big club player and still get to come back to England in his peak years.
Yeah, hard to understand the attraction 😂😂

So Germany is dominated by one team, but the premier league isn’t? Someone is lying to themself.

Bayern Munich are a top 3-5 team in the world in terms of value, so they’re objectively a bigger club than the teams linked with rice.

They are constantly winning silverware and competing in Europe and have even won the UCL in recent times.

Would it be preferable for Rice to play for Arsenal who won nothing this season? Who could potentially fall off next year? How about Man Utd? There’s no guarantee they make top 4 next year. He could find himself playing in the UEFA cup his second season because Man Utd, Chelsea or arsenal finish 6th.

Pundits need to get rid of this notion of football being premier league or bust and look at the club in consideration. Now if rice was linked to man city, we can have a debate, but he’s not, he’s being linked to teams that don’t win trophies and can’t guarantee UCL football. It may be likely, but we can’t set our watch to it.

"Going abroad to play" means different now – to say 20 years ago. Nowadays all the best players are coming here to Prem. If he went to Bayern it would be to a weaker league. i would be surprised if Rice went there too… unless it was his dream to play there (though that's unlikely in the way that some players dream of RM or Barca)

Being a West Ham fan I wish him all the best he’s done wonders for us, but Bayern? Can’t see it, think it will be arsenal as would make sense as he would get champions league football, better wage and wouldn’t have to move home either

  5. Duc N

As a Bayern fan I hope they don't buy Rice. The price tag is ridiculous and the risk of him failing at Bayern is too high.
Plus, they already got Laimer for free, a combatative DM who could work well with Kimmich.

  6. Finn Ole Perlick

the level of arrogance in the english media when it comes to massive clubs outside of england is absolutely staggering.

could absolutely see rice going to bayern and it would certainly be interesting to see one of the best english players outside the premier league.

  7. Wonner Licecal

So the option is go to a club that won’t win the premier league or a club that will win the German league and potentially champions league too ? But he’ll be gobsmacked ? 😂😂 Ok

  8. Indrajit Reddy

Bayern trying win CL since past 10 years they are not winning it anytime soon, players should be going to Bayern for their retirement phase, it will step dpwn for Declan rice to go to Bayern

  9. David Clerihew

Rice most likely aint gonna win the Prem unless he goes to City & he’s not guaranteed a game there with Rodri so rooted in the system.
He’s claimed leaving West Ham is about Champions League & winning stuff & there us absolutely no guarantee of that at Arsenal but there absolutely is at City & Bayern.

  10. Roshi53l

Not nonsense at all. . . Really arrogant to dismiss a club as big as Bayern like that. . .
Bellingham, Tomori, Sancho, Trippier, Abraham and even Owen Hargreaves spring to mind. The world is bigger than the Premier League 😒

  11. Jack Wachtel-Scott

What's not to like about Bayern Munich.
Guaranteed league titles, cups and champions league participation.
Simon doing his English is best propaganda.
If it were me and the money was right I'd be off to Bayern like a shot.
